Mirror Finish Grades: 8K (No.8), 10K and 12K
8K is the same mirror finish known as No.8 or #8 in Europe and North America. The higher the number, the finer the polish and the clearer the reflection. All three start from cold-rolled 2B stainless steel and are polished in stages with finer abrasives until the surface reflects like a mirror.
General Mirror
The standard mirror finish and the most widely used. Bright and reflective, and the cost-effective choice for most wall cladding, elevator and furniture projects.
Fine Mirror
A finer polish with sharper, cleaner reflections. For projects where the mirror effect is part of the design, not just the surface.
Super Mirror
Our highest gloss level, with the clearest reflection. Chosen for feature walls, sculptures and high-end interiors where every detail is on show.
How Each Mirror Grade Is Polished
8K (No.8) mirror is machine polished, which makes it efficient and cost-effective for most projects. 10K and 12K go a step further: after machine polishing, each sheet is finished by hand to reach a finer polish and a clearer reflection. That extra hand work is why the higher grades take longer and cost more.
Mirror-polished sheets can also be colored by PVD coating or Inco coloring, laminated onto MDF or aluminum honeycomb panels, or used as the base for water ripple and embossed patterns.
Silver and Colored Mirror Stainless Steel
Every color starts from the same mirror-polished sheet and is finished by PVD coating or Inco coloring. The same color can look different on a mirror base than on a brushed base, so we always send a physical sample on your chosen finish for approval.
Green Mirror Stainless Steel
More Colors
Champagne, bronze, blue, violet and other colors are also available on a mirror base.
ASK FOR THE COLOR CARDMirror Patterned Stainless Steel Sheets
A mirror finish is also the base for our patterned sheets, which add texture and movement to the reflection.

What Makes a Good Mirror Finish?
Two sheets can both be called 8K and still look different on the wall. These are the four things to check before you order a mirror stainless steel sheet.
Reflection Clarity
A finer polish gives a sharper reflection with less haze. Where the mirror effect is the focus of the design, 10K or 12K is worth the extra polishing time.
Flatness and Distortion
Large mirror panels show every wave in the sheet. A thicker gauge, or laminating the sheet onto a rigid substrate such as aluminum honeycomb or MDF, keeps reflections straight.
Batch Consistency
The same grade from different mills can polish to a slightly different brightness, and 304 and 430 do not look identical at the same mirror grade. That is why we match your bulk order to the sample you approved.
Surface Protection
A mirror surface shows the smallest scratch. Every sheet leaves our factory under protective film. Keep it on through cutting, transport and installation, and peel it only when the installation is complete.

PROJECT SPOTLIGHT
CLP Building, Hong Kong
1,852 m² of 12K mirror water ripple panels for the ceiling at the CLP building in Hong Kong. Watch how the surface catches and bends the surrounding light as the viewing angle changes.
- Finish: 12K Mirror Silver, Large Water Ripple
- Grade & Thickness: 316L / 3.0 mm
- Application: Ceiling
- Area: 1,852 m²
- How It Was Made: Each panel was formed by hydraulic press stamping, which keeps the 3 mm panels flat and the ripple pattern consistent across the whole ceiling.
Mirror Stainless Steel Sheet FAQ
Answers to the questions buyers ask most about mirror finish stainless steel. If you can't find what you're looking for, just contact us.
Is 8K mirror stainless steel the same as No.8 finish?
Yes. 8K is the name used by mills and suppliers in China, while No.8 or #8 is the name used in Europe and North America. Both describe the same mirror-polished surface.
What is the difference between 8K, 10K and 12K?
The number shows how fine the polish is. 8K is the standard mirror, 10K gives sharper reflections, and 12K is a super mirror with the clearest reflection. 8K is machine polished, while 10K and 12K are finished by hand after machine polishing, so they take longer and cost more.
What is the difference between a mirror finish and a BA finish?
BA (bright annealed) is a bright surface produced at the mill. It reflects, but the reflection is less clear. A mirror finish is polished after rolling, which gives a much sharper, true mirror reflection.
Which stainless steel grade should I choose for a mirror finish?
304 suits most interior projects. 316 and 316L have higher corrosion resistance for coastal, outdoor or humid environments. 430 is a lower-cost option for interior use. Different grades polish slightly differently, so choose the grade before you approve the sample.
Does mirror stainless steel scratch or show fingerprints easily?
A mirror surface shows fingerprints and fine scratches more than a brushed finish. Keep the protective film on until installation is complete, and for high-touch areas such as elevators, choose our anti-fingerprint (AFP) coating.
How do I avoid distortion on large mirror panels?
Any wave in the sheet shows up in the reflection. Use a thicker gauge for large panels, or laminate the sheet onto a flat, rigid substrate such as aluminum honeycomb or MDF. Tell us the panel size and we will recommend a build-up.
Can you make gold, rose gold or black mirror stainless steel?
Yes. We color mirror sheets by PVD coating or Inco coloring, in gold, rose gold, black, champagne, bronze, blue, green and custom colors. For a deeper black, we can also use electroplating. A color looks different on a mirror base than on a brushed base, so approve your sample on the finish you will actually order.
Mirror stainless steel or glass mirror: which should I use?
Mirror stainless steel won't shatter and can be bent, cut and fabricated, so it suits elevators, ceilings, columns and curved features. Where you need perfect optical reflection, such as a bathroom mirror, glass is still the better choice.
What is the MOQ and lead time?
Our MOQ is 10 sheets or 30 m². Popular items in stock ship within 5 working days. Production orders take 10–20 days, depending on the finish and quantity.
