Black is the only finish in the range that can be highly reflective without dominating the room.
Reflective without taking over
Mirror silver returns everything at full brightness, which on a large ceiling can pull attention away from whatever else the room is meant to be about. Black reflects at much lower intensity — you still get the ripple, the movement and the depth, but the surface recedes instead of competing. This is why black is often specified where the ceiling should be felt rather than looked at.
Two routes to black, and they are not the same depth
Black is the one colour in our range that can be produced two ways, and the choice decides how dark you end up with. PVD gives a black that reads slightly lighter — closer to a very dark graphite, with the mirror still coming through. Electroplating gives a genuinely deep black. If the drawing calls for a true black, electroplating is the only route to it. Most specifications do not say which, so tell us the depth you are after and we will send both to compare before anything goes into production.
Shadow does the work
On a light finish the ripple reads through highlights. On black it reads through shadow, and the contrast is sharper because the dark areas go genuinely dark rather than mid-grey. The pattern is more defined on black than on any other colour in the range, which means smaller ripple sizes still read clearly at ceiling height.
Makes a room feel taller, not smaller
A black ceiling is often assumed to close a space in. A black mirror ceiling does the opposite — the reflection removes the visual boundary while the low brightness keeps it from feeling exposed. It is a common technique in restaurants, bars and retail interiors where the ceiling is low and the space still needs to feel open.

What is the minimum order quantity?
The MOQ is 10 pieces in standard sizes: 1219*2438mm, 1219*3048mm, or 1500*3000mm. A higher MOQ applies for custom-made dimensions.
Can I get free samples?

Can the sheets be folded or fabricated?
Water ripple sheets can be bent or fabricated, but due to the uneven surface, careful edge folding and corner processing are required. We can provide grooving and bending service upon request.
Is the black colour PVD or electroplating?

Is it fire-resistant?
Yes. Stainless steel is a non-combustible material, making our mirror water ripple sheets naturally fire-resistant. It complies with most building safety codes.
Is there a protective film on the surface?
Yes. All mirror silver ripple sheets come with a PVC or laser protective film to avoid scratches during transport and installation.
What is the lead time for bulk orders?
Normally, production takes around 5–10 days, plus 10–60 days for ocean shipping depending on your location. We recommend scheduling early for large projects.
Is anti-fingerprint coating available?
Yes. We can apply anti-fingerprint and anti-scratch coating on the surface to improve durability and ease of cleaning—especially useful for high-touch areas.
