These three terms are largely interchangeable in the architectural industry. A column cover typically refers to a pre-fabricated stainless steel enclosure designed to wrap around an existing structural column, often in segmented panels with engineered joints. A column wrap carries the same meaning and is more commonly used in North America, especially for impact-protection applications. Column cladding is the broader architectural term, often used by specifiers and architects when describing the overall finished system. At VIGORSS, we manufacture all three under a single capability — custom-engineered stainless steel solutions for any structural column.

The right grade depends on your project's environment:

• 304 is the most common choice for interior applications such as hotel lobbies, malls, and offices. Excellent corrosion resistance at a competitive price.
• 316 contains molybdenum, making it more resistant to chlorides and saltwater. Preferred for coastal projects, pool areas, and chemical environments.
• 316L is the low-carbon version of 316, offering superior weldability for complex column shapes and long-term outdoor or humid conditions.

For most interior column covers, 304 is sufficient. For exterior facades or coastal architecture, we strongly recommend 316 or 316L.

We custom-fabricate column covers in round, square, rectangular, racetrack, elliptical, and tapered shapes. Standard heights go up to 3,000 mm in a single piece, with stackable joints available for taller columns. Round column diameters typically range from 300 mm to 1,500 mm, and square or rectangular sizes are fully customizable based on your column dimensions. Custom drawings, CAD files, and on-site measurements are all welcome.

This variety is one of our biggest advantages over aluminum or composite column wrap manufacturers, who are typically limited to painted or anodized finishes.

We support three industry-standard installation methods, depending on your project:

• Iron Frame System — the most widely used method. Brackets are pre-welded to the panels, then mounted onto a custom iron sub-frame anchored to the concrete column. Strong, permanent, suitable for any column size.
• Plywood Substrate — for small to medium interior columns. Plywood is fixed around the column first, then thin folded panels are bonded with structural adhesive. Eliminates hollow tap sound, but not recommended for tall or fire-rated public spaces.
• Z-Clip Hanging System — Z-shaped clips or keyhole slots allow panels to hook onto the sub-structure with no visible screws. The cleanest finish, fully removable for service access — ideal for luxury projects.

Each method comes with detailed shop drawings, pre-welded brackets, and on-site guidance from our technical team.

Absolutely. Custom patterns are one of our specialties. We produce etched logos, branded artwork, geometric patterns, and three-dimensional embossed designs to make structural columns into signature design elements. Notable examples include the hexagon-patterned stainless steel sheets used at Riyadh Airport and water ripple panels installed in landmark hospitality projects across Asia.

For standard finishes such as mirror, hairline, satin, and basic PVD colors, the MOQ is 10 pieces at standard size 4ft × 8ft. For custom finishes, patterns, or fully fabricated column covers, the MOQ is 30 pieces per design and size. We also welcome project-based pricing for large architectural orders.
