What I actually know
Most of it I learned from problems. A PVD gold that matched in our showroom and did not match on site. A mirror sheet that looked flawless until it went up under a lobby’s own lighting. A buyer who ordered 304 and received something that behaved like 201. Nearly every article on this site started as one of those conversations.
So I write about the things buyers ask me and cannot easily find answers to:
- How a finish behaves after it is installed, not on the sample card
- Where PVD coating and electroplating genuinely differ, and when each one is the right call
- Why the same color reads differently over a mirror base than over a brushed one
- How water ripple and embossed patterns are actually produced, and what that means for repeat orders
- What to put in a specification so the sheets you receive are the sheets you drew
I am not a metallurgist. I am someone who has spent fifteen years standing between a drawing and a production line, and who has been wrong often enough to know which questions matter.
The projects I work on
Ceilings, wall panels, column covers, lift interiors and facades — for architects, fabricators and cladding contractors in Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and Asia. I handle the accounts personally, which is why the answers on this site tend to be specific rather than general.
